MY BABY
My baby Finding out I could not have children was so devastating to me,
Thats all I ever wanted,a mom is what I wished to be
.There were so many days I wouldn't get out of bed,
For I couldn't get the sadness to ever leave my head.
Then the day I saw the ad "puppy's for sale"
I got this feeling inside me and when we met, oh how you wagged your tail.
I knew right away it was love at first sight,
For when I held you in my arms, everything felt just right
.Those little blue eyes looking at me,
I brought you home and my heart was filled with glee.
Never had I known just how attached you could get,
For you have become my daughter, surely not my pet.
I am a big one for ADOPT, DON'T SHOP..That is why I do what I do, to advocate stopping puppy mills and over breeding.... BUT that day when I saw that ad, I got a sick feeling, like an intuition and knew I had to go!! I got there and couldn't believe what I saw. I threw money at him, asked if we could take the others, he said no, I ran w/ Kota, and reported him.His dogs taken away and they went to good homes! I don't get how people can be so ......ignorant! So, though I "bought" her , she is the best thing to ever happen to me! she's my world!!! Who knows what would have happened to her!

Dakota
She is my princess, my whole world. When i found out I couldn't have children I got her and she sure is my child, I never knew there could be such a bond between pet pet and owner, or may I say mother and daughter. She was just a pup when I got her, and boy the home she was in, so sad, i saved her from a very scary situation. She layed in my arms as a puppy and seven yrs later she continues to act like (and be my) baby. She sleeps with us, at first head on pillow laying there like a lil baby and usually ends up under our feet. She is everything to me. She is loving, caring, gentle, but also... well a wussy LOL she is scared of everything, the sounds of water, the sound or sight of a fly, scared of any loud noises (the vacuum is a monster to her) she is special in many ways! She loves children and animals, shes always shared a food dish with other dogs, let children man handle her, and she doesn't have a bone of aggression in her body! Our previous house got broken into (while me and her were home alone) and she just started shaking. But I wouldn't trade her for a million dollars. She has taught me so much..Especially regarding trust and unconditional love.
Back in June Dakota was doing her daily running in our back field (and boy can my girl run) well she hurt her left back leg, she was in severe pain and couldn't put any weight on it. I brought her to the vet and he said she tore a ligament in her knee, but due to her weight and the fact it wasn't popping that she shouldn't need surgery, and then he put her on anti-inflammatory meds. She started to get better but while outside her leg gave out on her and then she was in severe pain and once again not allowing any weight on it, and when it moves it makes a popping sound. She was crying, yelping, and cant walk on her own. That killed me, my baby was hurting, I was broke, and couldn't make her better. Being scared, again I went to the vet and he said she will need a anterior cruciate ligament surgery which will be between 1500-3000.00 I was in awe. I myself had just had knee surgery and complications with a blood clot and was out of work and then put back only at 4 hrs a day, I didnt know what to do. then one day this Lovely group called " Pin Up For Pit Bulls" recommended I do a chip in account. I had never heard of it, it is where you put your story and your pay pal acct and then people can donate money towards her surgery. At first i was like "yeah right" But... I learned that if you do good deeds it comes back to you because to make a long story short in 2 months Dakota had 135 donations and raised $2,463! I could sit here for days and say ty since its 135 people but I surely want to mention Pin Up For Pit bulls www.pinupsforpitbulls.com and Concrete Angels http://www.facebook.com/concreteangelsproductions for helping and for sharing her story! Ty to each and EVERY one of you! It was so spiritually mind blowing! So she has since had her surgery. She has had a few complications but is doing well. I have now decided to go further with paying it forward. I try very hard to help anyone, animals, or human, to pay it forward. It always bounces back at you at some pint <3
